As the elf spoke, Castus strode across the clearing and peered down at the staircase, sword in hand. Scowling, he ground his teeth before replying, "Necromancers are all the same, damned cowards hiding behind their minions. Like as not, she's long gone already. I would prepare for an ambush, even so."
Merrik's sword whispered against its case as he drew it rapidly, taking two quick steps back from the ruins. A moment later, he thought better of it, and moved closer to the bulk of the party, sniffing the air.
"It smells ghastly here, but I can't tell if there's anything around..." the bard remarked quietly, then glanced at Daesi, "Suppose it's possible they left?"

"We can't take any chances," Daesi replied, a foot already on the first stair, and a hand on the hilt of his sword.
His vow aside, His Lordship would personally beat him if he found his servant to have not upholded the Lunnarian principle of dealing with Undeath severely.
"I am detecting a strong magic imminating from deep with in the earth."

"No chance they've moved on then, I suppose," the merchant sighed, watching as Castus pushed ahead of the elf and, with only the most brief pause, headed on into the darkness. "Eager to die, are you?"
The paladin didn't dignify him with an answer, instead disappearing into the gloom, trusting to the blessing of darkvision they'd been given.
Merrik glanced down at the stair, scuffing his boot over the ritual mark. "Well, good luck to us all," he remarked bitterly before falling into step with the rest.

Terrwyn followed the party and watched around her looking for the undead and the drows that she hated with a fiery passion. This time she was ready for the drows they weren't going to get her again. She pushed her braid off her shoulder and hefted up her staff shouting "For the goddess Sophia and Luneia Flora. Long live the elves!!" and with that Terrwyn White Winds disappeared into the gloom.

After the first flight of stairs down, the party finds themselves in a dimly lit foyer. Torches sit in brackets in the four corners of the room. Merrik, Daesi, and Castus each grab one of these torches leaving the fourth in it’s bracket. As you look around you all are filled with the eerie sense that you are in a long abandoned crypt. Shelves are carved one above the other into the rock of the walls, and various human bones lie upon them and judging from the state of the remains- they have been there for a very long time.
Daesi is visibly shaken at the sight and when confronted he confesses that “this area reeks of dark magic.” Still, the elf presses on.
Another set of steep stone steps leads further down. The stairs are just wide enough to permit the party to travel two-by-two. Daesi and Terrwyn take the lead, followed by Nia and Merrik, lastly Castus guides Mirasinera onward.
The stairs almost seem to stretch on forever, and you soon notice that the footsteps of those before or after you suddenly are no more. You are now alone with your partner. Reaching the bottom of the stairs- you find yourself in a mist filled room. Shapes are beginning to form in the mist- swirling into focus.
You are now gonna be split into three groups as stated before. I will be starting separate threads for each group.
But first I want a bit of a coin toss up. Heads or tails...
Castus: Heads Mirasinera: Tails Result: Heads
Nia: Heads Merrik: Tails Result: Tails
Terrwyn: Daesi: Result:
This will help me with the prompt a bit.
Each group will be prompted and then you can choose what you want to do from there. I would really like the action to be directed by you and I will shape the events based on your actions. Which means no one can slack off here!
You can talk to me with any concerns or questions.
I'm sorry for the lack of updates guys! *bows*
