(( OOC: Sorry for the derp guys but here you go lol! I still need those character profiles!) As dusk falls on the caravan, the servants of the nobles begin to pitch tents. Lord Baequimitore asks for help gathering the bodies of the fallen drow into a pyre where he then begins a simple ceremony, that those of the Paladin of Strength recognizes as the Dust to Dust ritual. The aim of which is to channel divine energy towards the disposal of the bodies before the remains can be defiled. At the close of prayer, a gentle golden light enveloped the elven Cleric as a strong gust of wind blew across the plain. The corpses instantly turn to dust which then disperses over the field. After a few closing prayers, Lord Baquimitore then asks you to join him at his own tent. Daesi is now by the lords side, and you can see him leading the lord to the tent and talking in hushed tones. You can tell that the two are familiar with each other, and also that Daesi holds him in high regard. ((Terrwyn: as a healer by now you can also tell by now that there is something more to his Lordship than he lets known. You can roll me a heal check on random.org Fill in 20 as the maximum and then add five to the result and give me the answer in your post.
Both Paladins: You can feel a strong good aura radiating from his lordship, and a feeling of peace and harmony- especialy as the moon rises in the sky.))When the party gathers at the chosen spot you find a well appointed table set with an simple elven feast of lightly dressed wild game, flat bread, and fresh raw vegetables. Your server is a well dressed elven woman with long blonde hair who Lord Baequimitore introduces as his wife Solnessona, a gifted musician who entertains the party during the meal with elven folk ballads. After the meal and entertainment Lord Baeqimitore then addresses the party. "I thank you all for coming here," he says. "Sir Aridutril here is a faithful servant of mine, who does my bidding. He has chosen all of you in full faith of your abilities. I must ask you now to lend me your skills. My connection with the divine Lunniea Flora has given me a vision of a great calamity in the near future. I still need some time to examine the signs and omens that I have dreampt but I do know now that we can not afford to be complacent with the way things are now. There are forces that are working now to usurp all that we hold dear. For now I need you to help me protect the King. I'm afraid that what we saw today might only be the beginning."

Terrwyn: You can tell by the way his lordship uses one of his two staffs to carefully 'feel' out the ground in front of him that he is indeed blind and has been for quite some time. However this handicap seems to have no ill effects on his demeanor, nor on the way he senses the world

(OOC: Kinda blah on Castus for now, so if it's okay I'd rather leave him out until he's needed. He won't be doing anything special.)
Merrik caught himself humming along with the elven tune, one he recognized from his travels, his lower tones weaving artfully through the melody. Though fluent in the language, he wouldn't dream of cutting in on the woman's song with words.
As for the lord himself, the merchant only lent him half an ear, occasionally catching bits and pieces of the conversation. He intended no disrespect, but couldn't fully banish the bitter feelings that gnawed at him. It seemed that much more would be expected of him before he'd have the chance to speak with anyone who might be able to restore him.
This impatience was a thing unfamiliar to him - a delay, even of years, should be nothing to a dragon. The urgency he felt worried and distracted him, working together with the lingering ache where he'd been struck by an arrow, reminding him that until the curse could be removed, he could only rely on a mortal's lifespan and a mortal's weakness. Nothing more was assured - though he hoped his situation wasn't all that dire.
"Your lordship," he spoke at last, quietly, hoping to keep the hesitation out of his voice, "I have sworn myself to aid this group, and will therefore follow where they lead. However, I have but a small understanding of what took place today, and what we may expect to face. Any information that we could have, I would greatly appreciate."

Kerruanna could sense the bard's apprehension. He would be a hard one to win over. As for the others, he was certain that they would aide him.
"Sir Merrik, I understand your impatience. My servant has alerted me to your predicament and also your need for discretion, so if you would please bear with me I will be more than happy to address your concerns in private." Returning his attention to the party as a whole he then asked: "What do you all know of the Ancient War of the Gods and the Scourge that followed?"
The Palidans can each roll me a Knowledge Religion check (Kate I have your character sheet so just give me the result of the die)
Nia and Merrik can give me a Knowledge Arcana check, and if anyone has it a Knowledge History check as well.
I will give you information based on the results, and how you then respond with it will be up to you.
Kitsu asked me about including more skill checks so here you guys go!

((OOC: Damn!))
Merrik: You have a feeling that the events mentioned have something to do with why magic is so distrusted in this world. As a dragon, you have heard of the War Of the Gods- a purported battle between the Moon God Lunniea and the Demon Lord Erebus, whether or not you care is up to you as the past is the past.

The merchant chose not to answer the first remark, hiding his surprise that the noble had already been told. Instead, he commented on the second - "I know what has been carried down in song," he began, carefully. The story was known amongst his kind, but it wouldn't do to express that. "I fear that I'd taken much of it to be myth and legend, as such things often are. Do you mean to imply that something of this nature had truly taken place?"

(10+whatever) As Terrwyn wearily followed everyone to the Lords tent she eagerly hoped she could go to bed soon or get a second wind to push through dinner. The dinner, Terrwyn found was excellent and she ate with as much gusto as she did with every meal. She had always had an almost bottomless appetite. Finding out that the Lord was blind was a shock because she was so tired but as she woke up she realized she he hid it very very well. Now as Terrwyn pushed away her plate she heard the Lords wife Solnessona's music and found it breathtaking and beautiful. So peaceful. Terrwyn felt a need to dance and also a very strong craving for tea but she realized she had no idea where her satchel of remedies was. Its probably with my luggage she thought.

Terrwyn: You know from your studies of mythology that your patroness Sophia remained fairly neutral to the brutal war between Lunniea and Erebus. The result of the War of the Gods was that a great Scourge of undead creatures were released upon the earth that brought havoc to the peoples of Therfis. Popular belief states that it was Lunniea, Lord of Life and Death, that let loose this blight and he was aided by his people the Elves. However in your course of studies you have come accross a different account, that it was actually Erebus that did this as to implicate Lunniea for these crimes and forever sully his name. Since this time thousands of years ago magic has been distrusted in the lands.

Lyrania ate her meal in complete silence. She enjoyed Solnessona's music greatly and had she not been eating, probably would have been humming softly. When she heard Merrik begin to hum she smiled. The humming was a perfect accent to the woman's song.
When the talking began, she listened intently while giving off an air of disinterest. It was completely unintentional, just a side effect of her distrust in anyone she didn't know personally. But when Kerruanna spoke of the War of the Gods her head snapped toward him.
((My roll was a 28...))
"Know of it!? I could give you the whole history if given enough time. Sorry, that was a bit rude. Yes, I know it. I know it well. It is why people such as myself are so distrusted." Her apology was because the beginning of the statement was more of an outburst then anything else. She shook her head at Merrik. "I only wish it were a myth," she muttered.

"Yes i know a side view of the war although not much, my patroness Sophia was not a big part. I love listening to tales and histories so i will listed to My Lord intently", Terrwyn replied a bit uneasily as it became clear she was about the only one that didn't know anything about the aforementioned War.

"Good, good, good, than a my next explanation will be shorter than planned. It makes me glad to find a few Gifted in this world of hate," Lord Baequimitore replied. "As one who derives much power from a simple belief that gods exist, I can say that from what has been revealed to me in dreams by his holiness Lunniea Flora that the events spoken of in legends did indeed happen centuries ago. There was a time in which the gods walked amidst the mortals on this plane. But when one has great power, the result is often jealousy on a grand scale. Jealousy is the root of many sins. The demon lord Erebus sought to undermine the god of the Quessir people, Lunniea, by unleashing what the people of Therfis feared most- a plague of ghastly horrors the likes which had never been seen. And with much deceit on Erebus's part the blame fell back on Lunniea who is the guardian of life and death. Because of this Therfis declared war on the Quessir and invaded our homeland, laying waste to the once great forests. And in that fight Lunniea's own son Strength laid down his life. In death his power was split into two pieces and sent to reside in two mortal vessels. One human, and the other Quessir. Thus the myth of Corrlinn Thalon- the Legendary Light Blade Keeper- was born. When these two powers are reunited it is said that Strength can be revived- and with him the power to stop this conflict from repeating itself. What I lay before you is a quest to find this power, before the world sinks into darkness once more."

Merrik sang out a few lines of verse regarding the events, then frowned grimly and inclined his head towards Nia in recognition. "My apologies. My dealings have been in coin and in stories, and I have not been as conscientious to true histories and politics as I might have been."
He glanced at the blind lord. "So I infer from the lady's reaction that old prejudices are still alive and well, and perhaps that your king's sensibilities are...not necessarily in line with those of the majority - have I got the right of it?"
The merchant paused, frowning. "Though I still can't guess where our dark friends come into this matter," he added, his tone rather dry. On the charge, he chose not to comment just yet. He had plenty to say as soon as he could get a more private audience with the blind lord.
