The bard ground his teeth, willing himself not to snap at the caster. This was a conversation between father and daughter, but now that Nia had inserted herself by essentially asking the paladin's permission to stay, there was nothing he could say to pry her away.
"As you will," he said, rather coldly, turning and walking off into the night.

"I think i will be fine Nia, but if i need your help especially if he slinks off again i'll shout for you", Terrwyn said finally breaking free of Nia's arms. Terrwyn still refused to look at Deasi as Nia left the clearing.

The elf nodded and looked over at the catfolk. "Mind coming with me?" Mirasinera nodded and the two of them disappeared into the woods. The two of them stopped just within shouting distance to the father and daughter.

Daesi watched Nia and the newcomer walk off into the woods, feeling slightly relieved that the mage seemed at least for now to be appeased. He'd have to talk with her later as well. But then again in his profession he did what he did because it had to be done (or someone had given him a substantial sum to do so), not because he wanted to be liked for actions. And most of his dealings were in secrets anyway. Peddling in other people's secrets- maybe that was half his problem, as he kept far to many of his own.
Well now to deal with the problem at hand. She was going to be angry at him no matter what he said. It was he who abandoned her in the first place.
"I'm sorry...." he started simply with a stammer. Explaining himself was not a thing he was good at.

Terrwyn watched Nia and Mira head into the woods knowing full well that they'd stick around just in case.then she turned to Daesi and thought.... we so have nothing in common. I guess i take after my mother as i always thought i did. She looked at Daesi expectantly, a question unspoken between them.

And.... 'What does he expect me to say?', Terrwyn thought. 'Oh its ok...or why didn't you tell me'. Something like that probably. Terrwyn thought for a moment and than said "What the hell Daesi?" Ah that could have had been said with a bit more tact Terrwyn thought.

She paused after saying that and said carefully for her atleast "How long have you known?"

"I was there when you were born," Daesi replied. "And instead of being happy I was scared. There were several reasons, and none of them are good excuses so I wont even make any for myself. What I did was wrong, and believe me I beat myself up every day over what I did. But to be honest. I was a thief and I did many bad things for people who sought to profit from the goods I took from people. I honestly thought that I wasn't worthy enough to be a good father."

"Did you know when you say me that I was your daughter?"

"Yes, you could say that I've made sure to keep a distant eye on you at all times. I made a promise to your mother that I would make sure no harm would come to you. Unfortunately circumstances beyond my control took me away for a time. But I made sure when I could that I would be there. That is why I risked my life to free you from the Nameless Ones. It was my own cowardice, however that made me keep the truth from you. You see I'm damaged goods. I didn't want you to get close to me."

"And why would it be so bad for me to get close to my father who i have always wanted? All these years i have grown up parentless, and know i find out that my father is alive and that he never told me who he really is. do you want me to head back to the city because if I do i promise you whether you want it or not i will not see you again, ever. I can look after myself, as i have been doing so no thanks to you. Or do you want me to stay and get to know you, and help the damned Nameless Ones? Which is it Daesi? If you want me gone, I'll leave no regrets or if you want me to stay i will because i want to know my father and what he does!", Terrwyn explained.

"Trust me I wouldn't have made a good father. I was an elf sold in bondage to humans who used me to commit crimes so that they could keep their corrupt hands clean. I was hardly proud of what I was. I escaped from them barely alive, and your mother saved me. We had a good life, and then she found out what I was and turned me in- which I have never begrudged her for. But it meant that insted of raising the child I loved, I now was back to doing what others wanted me too. When I resisted...."
He said as he reached a hand up to loosen the scarf he always wore around his neck. Hidden underneath was a terrible burn mark and a large scar, which looked like the remains of a failed attempt to slit his throat.
"... they did this to me... and ... threw me out like the... garbage I am," he choked.

"And than when my mother died why couldn't you have brought me home with you to Thala? Daesi we all have things in our past that we are not proud of but that doesn't define who we are unless it totally overwhelms us. We can get over this Daesi, we can destroy the Nameless Ones and be together like we always should have been. With Nia if she wants to join us also.", Terrwyn said hugging Daesi gently.
She reached into her core, the image of a white birch tree, silvered with the glow of Terrwyn's essence, her white magic. This was where it was stored ready for healing.she tapped into the well within her and carefully pulled some of the strands of magic to pool into her cupped hands, which she carefully put on Daesi. Terrwyn carefully tried to seal the cracks in Daesi's soul but she could only do it partway. Time and love would heal the rest. She also needed her damaged soul to be healed but when she looked inside herself the silver white birch tree had slim green buds on its branches. They were both healing. Only time would tell...

"Why do you think I rescued you when I did? I needed time to make sure that I could support a life for you, and that I wouldn't be putting you in danger. I serve a different master now, Lord Baequimitore has shown me a new purpose. Yes together we can help make a new world were both our peoples can live with out trying to destroy each other," Daesi said, replacing the scarf around his neck before standing up and offering her his hand.
"Come it's growing late. We all need our rest now."

Mirasinera felt the tension in the air ease a little and turned to Lyrania. "I think things are settled, we should head back to camp. The gods know we all could use some rest after all that." The elf nodded and followed Mira back to the camp silently.
When they got back to the tent Mira curled herself into a little ball and fell fast asleep. Nia on the other hand sat outside with Mira's men and waited for the others to return. Though she did need some rest, none would be had until she knew Terrwyn was alright. Besides, she had a couple apologies to make. She was a bit rude earlier.
