Castus:As you return to the main 'Temple' room, parcel in hand you are surprised to find that the temple is gone and in it's place is a room much like the one that you last saw your other party members only bigger.
Merrik: As you run about in circles you finally get your senses about you and you find your way back to the room where you were first separated from the others.
General Prompt: The room you find yourseves back in now stripped of the illusion that once filled it is strikingly similar to the one you were in before descending the staircase.
There is a dark cloaked figure standing in the center of the room. Merrik can instantly recognize this as both the sorcerer from earlier and the figure he was chasing.
Daesi and Terrwyn are also present and it seems that those two have already engaged the sorcerer in combat. However it seems as if Daesi has been wounded, as he is barely standing and clutching his side. Terrwyn stands protecting him, poised to attack.
"Well, well well, it seems that you all are of the mental fortitude to as not to surcomb to petty illusions. My opinion of you all has changed. But believe me, next time you all won't be so fortunate. You may have your lives, but the Nameless Ones now know what it will take to fell you! Your dreams, your desires, your fears, all helped to shape what you have seen. And the essences of all of this have been captured by us!" The sorcerer announces.

Merrik recoiled away from the figure, his face stamped with a look of disgust and horror. His usual careful poise evaded him, and, quite unconsciously, his lip drew back and bared his teeth in a snarl as his hand reached for his blade's hilt.
Castus bore the revelation better, pocketing the parcel, drawing his weapon and stepping forward. If he felt any doubt, he hid it behind a mask of grim resolve.
"None should accept the gift of life from a necromancer," he proclaimed, narrowing his eyes. "Nor will I fear your hollow threats - you cannot know the might of a paladin backed by his god, and you cannot know the ends to which I will go."
He glanced at Daesi though, briefly. It would be disadvantagious to draw them in...
The paladin looked back at the sorcerer. "Fight me, or flee as you like - I won't suffer you to stand there and mock us."
Behind him, Merrik slunk discreetly into the shadows, not particularly eager to be involved.

"You are the paladin of a slain god, here at the request of a dying god. So tell me then you who are so stupidly courageous, what good then are your gods? Your wishes are to revive them are no better than my acts which you condone," replies the sorcerer with a slight cackle.
A wave of dark energy suddenly sweeps through the room. Before you your wounded party member sinks to one knee gasping for breath.

Terrwyn stood in her stance gripping her glaive ready to stab it at the slightest movement from the thing in front of her. She felt Daesi's pain behind her but she knew that if she took her eyes off the nameless one it would strike, and she'd be dead. "hold on Daesi just hold on". She focused her mind and tried a simple air weave that might be able to ease Daesi's pain if she was strong enough to do so. she'd never used my magic like that but the circumstances were changing. "by the power of Sophia, let this heal my father!" she prayed as she let the weave go. The thing still hadn't moved. and then she fainted and all she saw was darkness.

The paladin's look darkened, but he humored the necromancer's reply only with the ominous declaration, "You know nothing."
But he looked to Daesi again, and the newly fallen Terrwyn, and knew - if there were deaths here, this battle would be a loss. Fight only when necessary, he reminded himself, though it galled him to turn his back on such a creature.
Then, inspiration struck. "Daesi," he spoke, trying to move himself between the elf and the sorcerer, "Can you walk? Merchant, help them - if you're so eager to flee. I will see to this."
Merrik sputtered in indignation, for a moment, but said nothing in the end - it was true after all.

Terrwyn felt weird. displaced. she couldnt wake up. Terrwyn gasped and froze when she felt Daesi fall under the dark potentcy. this was bad very bad. her displaced self risked a glance over to where Merrik and the sorcerror were. "What can i do?"she thought.... "If i cant move... let alone... wake up?"

Daesi struggled to remain on his feet as his right leg began to give way beneath him. He could just manage to hear the sounds that told him something was not quite right. The pain was there- but the had long ago grown used to it. Don't give out. Not yet. Can't fall now. They- no she- can't know just yet. Not here anyway, he thought. As much as it hurt his pride he turned from the sorcerer and began to limp his way over to where Merrik was hiding in the shadows. His training at least told him when it was good to turn tail and run. The others couldn't hold it against him in the condition he was in.
Passing Castus he implored: "I can get myself out of here. I'd stay but I'm in no condition to fight. I suggest you get out of here to. That foul creature is beyond our powers. Look after her please," and then slunk off to the shadows where he knew the merchant was.

"Fools." The sorcerer cackled. "I have no intention of killing you all just yet. You are too useful to me right now. I will take my leave. But trust me, you have not seen the last of me yet."
Suddenly the chamber is filled with an acrid smelling smoke. When the smoke clears, your opponent is gone.

Merrik went to Daesi, hesitated, then made a noncommital motion towards Terrwyn as the elf and paladin conversed.
"I cannot leave," Castus was protesting, "I will see this through and, gods willing, meet you at the camp after-"
But in a moment, the sorcerer was gone. The bard swore he saw the paladin's grip on his sword tighten, a muscle twinge in his jaw, and a fleeting look of disappointment, but it had passed in a moment.
"Just as well," he spoke, sheathing the blade and turning to the group. "Merchant, carry the lady - I'll guard our rear. I have a bit to speak of once we've returned to the surface, but let's be sure we're truly safe first."
He took a final glance around them, as Merrik moved to comply.

Terrwyn woke with a groan. both her shoulders were stiff. than she remembered. "Daesi?" she sat up. She rummaged in her satchel and found some peperment to chew on to give her strength. She looked around realizing the sorcerer was gone... and the party were staring at her.

At the sound of his name Daesi limped out of the darkness. "I'm fine," he said in acknowledgement of Terrwyn's concern. But then, almost as if to contradict his last statement his knee began to buckle again. Swaying, but still managing to stay on his feet he muttered: "On second thought I could use some help."
Screw pride... at this point he just wanted to curl up in a warm bed.

The bard leapt back from Terrwyn as though he'd been burned, muttering a feeble apology. As Daesi returned, he went to his side quickly, not wanting to wait for Castus to order him again. I'll repay him for this, self-important ass, he ought not to dare speak so, he glowered briefly, offering Daesi a shoulder, "I'll help, just don't lean too heavy."
For his part, Castus was still scanning the room with a deep frown. Two of their number were missing, but they were in no fit state to go looking. Inwardly, he decided to not bring it up at that particular moment.
He turned back towards the party. "That way is out, as I recall. Best get moving."
"Glad to see the back of this godsforsaken place," Merrik grumbled.
"Godsforsaken...?" Castus echoed curiously, but let the matter drop.
As they went, he hung back slightly, turning to look behind every so often. As they got nearer the exit, he took the parcel out and unwrapped it carefully.

Terrwyn struggled to stand up, using her glaive as a cane and hobbled over to Daesi. She got out her herbs and made a compress of willowbark and poppy for the pain and comfrey and lavender for the bruising. than she glanced around at the other party members and decided she had better get to work. "so who wants to be healed with white magic first, i'd prefer just to use herbs but i think you really need it?"

"Castus are you alright? i am sorry for pushing you away!" terrwyn told him when she glanced back at him after he finished speaking.
