This is just a guide for making a beginning character to start off with.
Player Slots:
The Party right now is in the company of an NPC Rouge/Divination Specialist.
((For the love of Lunniea why did I almost type Gil instead of Gold??....))
- All characters will start play at level 5 with basic equipment (Backpack, rations, basic gear- nothing over 25 gold, One weapon, basic armor, spellbook for wizards, simple instrument for bards) and 100 Gold to buy anything else including mounts which the character must pay to stable.
- All five beginning levels must be of the same class
- For Races: The most prevalent race in this world are the Humans. The campaign will start in the human capital of Therfis. The second most populous race are the elves who have a large homeland on The Crescent Continent. There are scattered elven villages in the Kingdom of Therfis, as well as a large elven community with in the capitol. Elves will receive certain bonuses based on where they originate from. Drow populate a small swath of mountains on the border between the human and elven lands. The DM has special rules for drow in this game. Dwarves have a homeland to the south of Therfis and rarely venture out from their lands. Halflings while rare have made a home in human lands. There is also a small population of Half-Celestials residing in Therfis. All other races must be run by the DM, most will be rejected.
- There is a strict Taboo on Necromancy in Therfis. The humans are extremely superstitious and the elves treat Necromancy as a sin against the gods.
- Only classes shown in the Player's Handbook will be allowed at the start. However I will allow for some alternate class option as detailed in chapter 2 of the Unearthed Arcana supplement (Starting on PG 47). Available options include: Totem Barbarian, Bardic Sage, Divine Bard, Cloistered Cleric, New Monk Fighting Styles, Paladin of Freedom, Urban Ranger, Battle Sorcerer, Domain Wizard (All except Necromancy) and the Specialist Wizard variants (all except Necromancy) Run all choices by the DM first though.
- Characters may cross class when the DM allows.
- Characters may Prestige Class at level 10 only, even if they meet the requirements earlier. Prestige Classes will be considered rewards from the DM for good game play. All Prestige Classes must be run through the DM. Any in game requirements for such classes must be met through game play.
- Characters may have any alignment on the good axis as well as a true neutral alignment. Chaotic Neutral, Lawful Neutral, and anything on the Evil axis is banned.
- Characters must pick a patron deity. There is no such thing as an atheist in this world, but characters can simply either be agnostic or pay lip service to deities when the time comes. All characters have some knowledge of the Gods, and evidence of the Divine is everywhere.
- Certain spells are banned from character's spell lists. These include Dominate Person, Permanency, Lesser Geas/Quest and Greater Geas, All Inflict spells, All spells characterized as Evil, and some Necrotic spells (all spells to create and control undead as well as inflict curses/status ailments). All spell lists must be run through the DM. For those wizards who choose to specialize in Divination, Necromancy will always be their forbidden school as most Diviners worship Lunniea.
